NO-STING SKIN-PREP is a versatile, alcohol-free, liquid film-forming skin protectant, useful on intact or damaged skin to help prevent:
  • Dermatitis (moisture associated) from wound exudate or ostomy effluent Incontinence associated dermatitis
  • Skin damage associated with caustic drainage from tracheostomy tubes, nutrition feeding tubes (g-tubes, j-tube)

How to use No-Sting Protective Dressing?

  1. Ensure that the skin is clean and dry before application of NO-STING SKIN-PREP.
  2. Using Wipe/Swab uniformly coat over the entire area to be protected.
  3. No-Sting Skin-Prep will take approximately 30 seconds to dry. If you miss an area, you intended to cover, wait until the original site of application has dried, then reapply.
  4. Another coating of No-Sting Skin-Prep may be applied optionally and allowed to dry before covering the area with dressing or other adhesive product for maximum protection.
  5. If No-Sting Skin-Prep is applied to an area with skin folds or skin-to-skin contact, ensure that skin-contact areas are separated to thoroughly allow the coating to dry, then return to the normal position.
  6. When used under adhesive products, reapplication is necessary each time the product is changed as the medical adhesive can remove the film. Ensure that the NO-STING SKIN-PREP is dry before the medical adhesive is used.
  7. When used as a protectant against bodily fluids, feces, or urine, etc., and no adhesive products are applied to the skin:
    • Reapplication of NO-STING SKIN-PREP is recommended every 24-96 hours depending upon the frequency of cleansing;
    • In extreme cases (e.g., constant diarrheal stooling) with very frequent cleansing, more frequent applications may be necessary (i.e., every 12-24 hours).

How to remove or reapply Smith & Nephew Protective Dressing?

It is not necessary to remove NO-STING SKIN-PREP before reapplication as it will be removed by the natural process of epidermal cell turnover. However, if removal is required, medical adhesive removers can be used to remove the film. Apply NO-STING SKIN-PREP on Clean and dry area afresh as directed above.

  • NO-STING SKIN-PREP forms a film on the skin that serves as skin protection which may provide relief by avoiding exposure to feces and urine.
  • The product may be used on full-term infants from one month, children, and adults.

  • Should any signs of irritation (reddening, inflammation) or sensitivity (allergic reactions) appear, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional.
  • Do not use on patients with a known allergy to any of the ingredients.
  • This product is not recommended for use on sensitive areas, such as around the face and eyes, unless under the guidance of a healthcare professional. In case of accidental contact, flush eyes well with water.
