Types of Exam Gloves

  • Based on Disposal - Based on the way the person wants to dispose the gloves, they come in reusable and disposable types. Disposable types are usually thinner and are apt for only one use per glove.
  • Based on Material - Exam gloves are made from three major materials. Nitrile is a synthetic material that can resist a number of chemicals. Vinyl gloves are used by people who have latex allergies. Latex gloves are the first of the exam gloves and are commonly used for when a person wants disposable gloves.
  • Based on Sterility - Similar to a number of medical apparatus, exam gloves also come in sterile and non-sterile versions.
  • Based on Lubricant - Exam gloves can be either powdered or non-powdered based on the amount of lubricate one requires when using the glove.
