Medline Hyalomatrix Non-Adherent Hyaluronic Acid Wound Device is bi-layered, sterile, flexible and conformable wound device. Its non-woven pad comprised entirely of HYAFF, esterified hyaluronic acid. Its semipermeable silicone membrane controls water vapor loss, provides a flexible covering for the wound surface, and adds increased tear strength. Biodegradable matrix acts as a scaffold for cellular colonization (e.g. fibroblasts) and capillary development, facilitating ordered reconstruction of dermal tissue.

Hyalomatrix Non-Adherent Wound Device Highlights:

  • Removes easily without pain
  • Gentle patient care
  • Natural wound healing process
  • Cuts to size
  • Conformable and flexible

Hyaluronic Acid Wound Device Features

  • Latex free
  • Sterile
  • Removal of the silicone layer of Hyalomatrix is recommended when the tissue underneath is healed, or ready for grafting, typically 14 to 21 days after application
  • To cover Hyalomatrix, a non-adherent secondary dressing should be chosen by wound location, size, depth and user preference
  • Facilitates the natural re-epithelialization process
  • Promotes the proliferation of new cells and capillary development via 3-D HYAFF matrix
  • Maintains a moist microenvironment conducive to granulation and healing
  • Semi-transparent silicone membrane encourages monitoring without disrupting new wound bed
  • Cost-effective and easy to use
  • Becomes a hydrophilic gel upon contact and provides HA in a prolonged manner; no activation required

How Hyalomatrix works?

  • Hyalomatrix is a sterile, flexible wound device consisting of two layers: a non-woven pad of esterified HYAFF and a semi-transparent silicone membrane
  • Upon contact with the wound bed, the HYAFF layer transforms into a hydrophilic gel and integrates with the surrounding tissue. This biodegradable matrix acts as a 3-D scaffold for cellular invasion - facilitating the colonization of fibroblasts and vascular cells - as well as capillary development
  • The HYAFF fibers provide HA to the wound bed in a prolonged manner, encouraging cell migration. This leads to new dermal tissue reconstruction, along with spontaneous re-epithelialization
  • On the outer side, the thin, semi-permeable silicone layer protects the wound from external contamination, prevents moisture loss and increases tear strength. Semi-transparent, it allows continuous monitoring of the wound healing process without dressing removal
  • Following the formation of the new tissue, the silicone layer can be released without pain or wound bed damage
