CATALYST NPWT Precautions

 

  • Do not allow the CATALYST to get wet. Disconnect the tubing from the canister if you take a bath or shower.
  • Keep the device plugged into a power outlet whenever possible to keep the battery fully charged. Always take the A.C. Power Adapter with you when you leave home.
  • Keep the unit upright to avoid a false Canister Full alert.
  • Keep the CATALYST turned on at all times unless there is bleeding from the wound or instructed by your healthcare professional.
  • Do not change the settings on the CATALYST unless you are told to do so by your healthcare professional.

 

How to clean CATALYST Device?

Cleaning of the CATALYST must not be performed when the it is connected to a patient or powersource. Disconnect the unit from the patient and power source before cleaning.

 

 

  • Clean all surfaces of the CATALYST, including the ports and the A.C. Power Adapter, then allow the solution to airdry on the device
  • If there is visible soilage on the device, clean it a second time after the first cleaning has removed the soilage.
  • Wipe down the CATALYST with a clean, dry cloth to remove any bleach residue
  • Keep the CATALYST turned on at all times unless there is bleeding from the woundor instructed by your healthcare professional.
  • Visually inspect the unit and A.C. Power Adapter for damage. If damage is noted, take the CATALYST or theA.C. Power Adapter out of service and replace per protocol.
