How to use Tegarderm Super Absorber Dressing?

  • Select a dressing size that allows 1 inch (2.5 cm) overlap onto intact skin
  • For wounds with depth, use absorbent wound fillers such as 3M Tegaderm Alginate Dressing or 3M Tegaderm Alginate Ag Silver Dressing
  • Apply dressing with white contact layer towards the wound — the green hydrophobic backing protects against strike through
  • Secure the dressing by taping the edges with preferred adhesive or other securement, e.g. 3M Kind Removal Silicone Tape, 3M Tegaderm Transparent Film Roll, 3M Medipore H Soft Cloth Surgical Tape or under 3M Coban 2 Layer Compression System

Caution:

  • Important to use the white wound contact side towards the wound. Do not cut the dressing, the cover must remain intact. Do not use the dressing if the sterile packaging is damaged. Single use product, do not re-sterilize, cannot be re-used.

Contraindications:

  • The dressing should not be used on dry or low exuding wounds, eyes, mucous membranes, tendons or in wound cavities because the dressing swells during absorption. The dressing should not be used on persons with a known sensitivity to the dressing or its components.
