When to use Mepilex Ag Transfer?
Mepilex Transfer Ag Soft Silicone
Antimicrobial dressing is indicated for low to high exuding wounds including difficult-to-dress locations where an antimicrobial effect is required:
- Traumatic wounds
- Partial thickness burns
- Pressure ulcers
- Foot and leg ulcers
- Surgical incisions
Mepilex Safetac Technology:
The Safetac technology layer makes direct contact with the wound and the peri-wound skin, including uneven surfaces. It seals around the wound margins, allowing the foam structure of Mepilex Transfer Ag dressing to transfer exudate vertically into an absorbent secondary dressing.
How to Apply Mepilex Transfer Ag Antimicrobial Dressing?
- Preparation - Cleanse the wound and dry the surrounding skin thoroughly. If needed, cut Mepilex Transfer Ag silicone dressing to the appropriate size or shape.
- Apply Mepilex Transfer Ag - Remove the release film, and apply the adherent side to the wound allowing at least 2-5 cm overlap on dry skin. Do not stretch the dressing during application.
- Apply Secondary Dressing - Apply an absorbent secondary dressing that is appropriate for the exudate level. The secondary dressing should extend 2-5 cm onto the peri-wound skin.
- Apply Fixation - Use an appropriate fixation to hold the dressings in place, e.g. Tubifast, Dermafit, etc.
