How to apply Mepilex Border Lite Dressing?
- Clean the wound area gently.
- Dry the surrounding skin thoroughly.
- It is not necessary to use skin barrier products.
- Cut Mepilex Foam Dressing to the desired size if required
- Remove the first release film.
- Apply the adherent side to the wound. Do not stretch.
- Remove the second release film. Smooth down border
How Often to Change Mepilex Border Lite Dressing?
- Mepilex Border Lite Foam dressing can stay in place for up to 7 days. Consider changing the dressing if it gets soiled or damaged. Also, the wound condition must be evaluated for dressing change frequency.
- Note: In case of clinical signs of infection the use of Mepilex Border Lite may be continued if proper infection treatment is initiated.
Precautions to take while using Mepilex Border Lite Foam Dressings
- Mepilex Lite should not be used with oxidizing agents such as hypochlorite solutions or hydrogen peroxide
- Mepilex Border Lite dressing should be stored in dry conditions below 35°C (95°F) and be protected from direct sunlight
- In case of signs of clinical infection, consult a health care professional for adequate infection treatment
- Do not use if the inner package is damaged. Sterility is guaranteed if the inner package is intact. Do not resterilize
Warnings:
- Can be used in the presence of clinical infection if appropriate antimicrobial therapy is also provided.
- There may be an apparent increase in wound size during the first days of treatment due to the moist healing environment.
- Increase in size at first is normal and expected.
