Medline Sterile Bordered Gauze is constructed with a heavy-duty soaking pad that absorbs fluid and prevents the skin from maceration. The conformable, non-woven fabric adhesive border keeps the dressing in place. The deluxe soaking pad is non-adherent and therefore does not stick to the wound site reducing the chances of damage. It has an inherent moisture retention capacity that makes it an optimum gauze dressing for wound incisions.

  • Remove Bordered Gauze from the package
  • Remove one side of the paper liner. Place over the wound and surrounding skin.
  • Remove remaining liner. Smooth dressing over skin and wound.

Sterile Bordered Gauze Removal:

  • Gently press on the skin and lift an edge of the dressing.
  • Carefully Stretch the dressing along the skin to minimize discomfort.

Changing Frequency of Island Wound Dressing:

  • Change the dressing as indicated by the amount of drainage or as frequently as the primary dressing indicates
