Frequently Asked Questions
Is Micropore tape sterile? Can it be sterilized?
Micropore tape is not completely germ-free when you get it. It can be made germ-free using a special gas called ethylene oxide, but don't use steam. 3M gives some rules on how to do it, but it's up to the place that uses it to make sure it's really germ-free. Avoid using hydrogen peroxide with a method called Sterrad because it won't work well due to the materials in the tape.
Which 3M surgical tapes are hypoallergenic?
All 3M surgical tapes are gentle on the skin and won't likely cause allergies. They've been tested on 200 people to make sure they are safe for the skin.
Which 3M surgical tapes are latex-free?
Every 3M surgical tape, including the 3M™ Cloth Adhesive tape, is safe because they don't have natural rubber latex in them.
