This highly absorbent dressing also helps to protect the wound from bacteria and fungi. It has a soft, flexible and cushioning cover for bony prominences or abraded the skin. How to use Medline Derma-Gel Hydrogel Sheets?

  1. Determine the appropriate dressing size. Dressing should be 25% larger than the wound, or extend 1 1 /2 beyond the wound
  2. Prepare the wound site. Cleanse as needed and apply topical medication as indicated.
  3. Using the appropriate technique, remove the dressing from the package
  4. Cut the dressing, if necessary, leaving the clear plastic cover in place while cutting
  5. Remove the clear plastic cover sheet from the gel. but don’t remove the white stretch material
  6. Cover the wound with the dressing, placing the gel directly on the wound.
  7. If waterproofing is necessary, cover with a film dressing
  8. Secure the dressing of the following:
    • Hypoallergenic tap (if applying to a sacral area, or another hard-to secure area, it is better to cover the dressing completely with a breathable tape, rather than window framing).
    • Gauze bandage or elastic wrap
    • Elastic sleeve compression bandage, support stockings

Contraindications:

  • Heavily draining wounds
