How to Apply Medline Puracol Plus Collagen Dressing?

  • Follow normal procedures for wound bed preparation such as irrigating with wound cleansers or saline, and debriding the wound if necessary  
  • Dry the area surrounding the wound  
  • The dressing may be cut to size or shape to better match the wound area
  • To maintain a moist wound it should be covered with a suitable secondary dressing such as Suresite Film Dressings, Optifoam or Optifoam Ag foam dressings, StrataSorb or a bodered gauze  
  • Remove outer, secondary dressing and at clinician discretion, remove the remaining collagen from the wound,or replace another collagen sheet on top of the previous sheet
  • Change / reapply Puracol Plus AG up to 7 days, depending on drainage

How frequently Medkine Puracol Plus Dressing should be changed?

  • May be left in place for up to 7 days
  • Dressing change frequency will depend on amount of drainage
