3M Coban Self-Adherent Wrap is a flexible wrap that works like a tape but sticks only to itself. It is used to secure dressings and other devices, compress or protect wound sites, immobilize injuries etc. Coban Wrap is available in sterile and non-sterile versions and in a variety of widths and colors to suffice your application needs. 3M Coban Self-Adherent Bandage is a cohesive elastic wrap constructed from a nonwoven material and elastic fibres. The cohesive properties allow the wrap to stick to itself but not to other materials or skin.

How to use 3M Coban Self-Adherent compression bandage?

  • Unwrap around 12 inches of Coban self-adherent wrap from the roll and allow the wrap to relax.
  • Without stretching, apply one full wrap and overlap. Press overlapped area lightly to keep the end in place.
  • Continue with wrapping, applying pressure to the wrap only to obtain the desired compression. Always unwind more Coban self-adherent wrap from the roll before making a wrap so that the product is not applied with too much tightness.
  • When the application is complete, cut the excess 3M Coban wrap. Secure the end of the application by lightly pressing.

Precautions to take while using Self-Adherent Bandage

  • 3M Coban Self-Adherent compression bandage contains Natural Rubber Latex which may cause allergic reactions in some people
  • Coban self-adherent wrap will not slip or loosen after application. Do not wrap too tightly to avoid impairing circulation and causing serious injury. The risk of impaired circulation is higher for children.
  • Monitor area frequently (no less than every 24 hours) for signs of swelling, discoloration, pain, numbness, tingling, or other changes in sensation. If these symptoms occur, remove wrap immediately and contact your health care provider.
  • Do not place Coban Bandage in direct contact with an open wound because it may lead to infection.
  • This product is not designed, sold or intended for use except as indicated.
  • When used as an element in a compression wrap system, it is necessary to ensure sufficient arterial blood flow to avoid damage secondary to decreased circulation. Coban self-adherent tape should be used as a component of a compression wrap system only under the guidance of a wound care expert.
  • Do not reuse. Reuse may result in compromising product integrity and/or lead to failure.

Storage/Shelf Life of Coban Self-Adherent Wrap

  • 3M Coban Self-Adherent compression bandage should be stored at room temperature.
  • Avoid excessive heat and humidity.
  • For best performance, store Coban self-adherent wrap in its individual package until use.
  • For shelf life, refer to the date printed on each primary carton.
